Surface Pro Serial Number Check
The serial number on the back of the Surface Pro/RT tablet under the kickstand. There is a Windows logo and two columns behind the kickstand. Took some digging, but I eventually found the site for checking the warranty on a MS Surface that doesn't require it be registered to. MS told me: 'You should have attached the serial to the warranty. Not even an indication that I have a Surface Pro, much less a warranty.

There is a man on craigslist selling his surface because he got an iPad and he uses that one more and no longer uses the surface one anymore. I asked him which surface tablet he is selling but he does not know and I don't know how to tell him to check the tablet's model. I can't go to his house and look at the tablet by myself because it is kind of far away. Anyway, I looked online and all of them seem to be the same from outside, the surface, surface 2, surface pro, and surface pro 2 seem to be identical to me (I don't know that much about tablets either).

Step 1: Access to UEFI settings.
Option 1: Access to UEFI settings from Sign-in Screen when locked.
Shut down your Surface. Press and hold the volume-up button, at the same time, press and release the power button. When you see the Surface or Windows logo appears, release the volume-up button. The UEFI menu will display within a few seconds.
Option 2: Get to UEFI settings from Advance settings when accessible.
1. Go to Start, select Settings > Update & security > Recovery. Under Advanced startup, select Restart Now.
2. On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > UEFI Firmware Settings.
